Mayor’s Appeal 2011-12
The Mayor’s Appeal for the year 2011-12 will be focussing on four youth charities which provide excellent support at a local level.
These are:
Streetdreams is a charity which specialises with disadvantaged young people by setting up special projects. They offer life skills training and after school activities.
Wycombe Youth Action runs a range of projects for young people including:
The Wycombe Youth Council; Computer drop-in centre for unemployed young people, Wycombe Youth radio and Community Art.
Young Carers - Young Carers Bucks works with and supports children and young people aged 6 to 18 years who care for a family member because of a physical or mental illness or disability.
Wycombe Young Minds – is a support group for young people to promote their mental well-being, for example depression. It is a project of Wycombe Mind based in Wycombe.
They also provide information booklets and disseminate them to schools, GPs surgeries and other agencies.
